HIKING TRAILS TO EXPLORE WITH THE FAMILY

The fun is endless when we head out on our hiking trails. Each outing is unique, characterized by the weather of the moment, the region’s wildlife, and the people we meet on the way. These joyful moments are amplified when our children accompany us, wide-eyed and with a boundless curiosity. An outburst of love for the Brome Missisquoi trails you’ll explore with your family.

The Mount Gale Network at the Parc des Sommets

With its diversity of wildlife, both ornithological and floral, the Mount Gale Network (15 km) offers a magnificent cascade, a lake, and a summit revealing an impressive view overlooking Lake Gale. The different trails will delight novice and intermediate level ramblers and are the perfect choice for an under-three-hour hike. To make your vacation even more memorable, complete your day or weekend by exploring the shops and attractions of the Town of Bromont.

A favourite with Bromont residents and hiking enthusiasts alike, the M50—Coureur des Bois trail (1.5 km) of the Mountain Network will surely make its way onto your list of must-do outings. The recently built belvederes you’ll discover when you reach the top of Mount Bernard will allow you to admire the magnificent natural panorama before you. An outing to enjoy with your children if you’ re looking for a good hiking challenge and especially, for a memorable family picnic!

Sutton’s Village—Mountain trail offers visitors a route that will take them from the downtown sector of the town all the way to the ski hill. On the program, five kilometres that will delight hikers of all ages! And if you should want to continue further, you can access the numerous trails of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS). Also, if your kids lack a little motivation to get going, tell them that they’ll be exploring a place called the Marmite aux Sorcières, the witches’ cauldron! This will surely pique their curiosity … and their imagination!

The Sentier Nocturne at Au Diable Vert Mountain Resort

This evening trail at the Au Diable Vert mountain nature resort is a unique night experience in one of the most scenic areas of the region! With the help of reflective panels and mammal and bird fact cards that you can download prior to your visit to the site, families can identify the natural residents that roam about the surrounding environment. Although the trail is quite short (1.2 km), plan at least 30 minutes for this activity. And don’t forget your headlamps or flashlights!

Frelighsburg’s Municipal Park Trails

The village of Frelighsburg is one of my favourite destinations in the region. You’ll discover some lovely gourmet stops and amazing landscapes that will please small and tall alike! The Municipal Park trails abound with natural treasures and invite you to explore a majestic mixed forest, the Rivière aux Brochets, and an impressive variety of bird species. I suggest you go on your hike in the morning and then discover the region’s delightful gourmet treats such as those offered at Beat & Betterave or Les Sucreries de l’Érable.

Whatever route you choose to take for your next excursion to Brome-Missisquoi, two rules apply: be careful, but especially … have fun!
