A Family Winter In Brome Missisquoi

By Isabelle Bergeron 14 February 2018

To experience winter with your family is to truly love it, especially if you try our suggestions! You’ll even hope spring will arrive late this year!

A Snow Day at Plein Air Sutton

Why? To explore the 21 km cross-country ski trails; to ride a fatbike in the 10 km network of trails set within a 150-acre, century-old forest (for families that have practised this sport before, since the trails are for intermediate and advanced levels); and lastly, to admire the always magnificent landscapes. Don’t miss their full-moon outing on March 3rd, hot chocolate included!

Ice Fishing

Pêche sur glace - la Champlain

A unique experience your children or grandchildren will absolutely love. The outfitter Activité Plein Air Philipsburg will arrange a very special day for you as you fish on Lake Champlain safely with all the amenities you’ll need.

Family Skiing

At Bromont, montagne d’expériences, with 142 trails (of which 102 are open all evening) and six newly improved snow parks; or yet again at Sutton, with more than sixty beginner to expert trails. Both mountains offer an exceptional natural setting for a superb day of skiing! Also, if you come during the spring break, keep an eye out for the many special activities they will organize for the occasion.

Mount SUTTON, from March 3 to March 11: A treasure hunt, giant snow Volleyball, snow park entertainment, etc.

BROMONT, montagne d’expériences, from March 5 to March 9: We promise games and events that will challenge the most energetic among you!

Trekking at the PENS

Parc d’Environnement Naturel de Sutton (PENS) is the ideal playground for all hikers including those with the tiniest calves and those with the most powerful ones! The Val-Sutton 2.4 km loop and easy 135-metre elevation is perfect for a family outing. The 7.4 km-Round Top trail, on the other hand, will offer your teenagers a rewarding challenge as it reaches an elevation of 420 metres. Definitely a not-to-be-missed experience you will surely add to your list of favourites!

Snow Cycling, Just for The Fun of It

Would you like to have your family try a new sport? Why not head out to the Centre National de Cyclisme de Bromont to test your fatbike skills? The pros will be glad to help you and the Centre is one of the only places where you can rent a fatbike for your child.

A Well-Deserved Snack

If you crave a mug of rich hot chocolate, Café 1792, Musée du Chocolat and Chocolaterie Belge Muriel all cater to hot chocolate fans as well as coffee lovers and offer many well-deserved treats after a full day of family outdoor activities.
