What to Do in Brome-Missisquoi in December

The mild temperatures of November encourage us to take advantage these beautiful days outdoors as we slowly settle back into our winter habits and traditions. However, this doesn’t mean that the time has come to hibernate! In fact, it’s quite the opposite: Brome-Missisquoi is brimming with activities to enjoy throughout the month of December in the region!

Bask in the Holidays Ambiance

For wine amateurs who wish to discover our vineyards from a new perspective, you should know that some of these are open year-round. Plus, at least ten vintners on the Route des vins will be welcoming you next December 4 and 5 during their Holiday Special Event, showcasing the northern character of Québec’s vineyards. You’ll be able to taste delicious local products, buy gifts for your loved ones and complete your Holiday provisions. A great addition to our traditional Christmas markets, which will welcome you once again in seven municipalities in the region. To really immerse yourself inside the Holiday ambiance, we recommend you head out to the Town of Lake Brome and explore their amazing Garden of Magic Lanterns and the Magical Path.

Enjoy the Fresh Air

For those among you who can’t wait to put your ski boots on, no worries! Bromont, montagne d’expérienceand Mount Sutton are already hard at work so you’ll enjoy their resorts under the best conditions possible. Take this time, just before their official opening, to buy your memberships and to make sure your equipment is in order.

If you simply wish to re-energize yourself with an immersion inside nature, why not combine the outdoors with a moment of relaxation at BALNEA SPA? We also encourage you to head out on our vast network of trails, accessible everywhere in Brome-Missisquoi, whether it’s for hiking, or cross-country skiing as soon as the snow coverage allows. Either on our urban trails wearing crampons, or on snowshoes exploring our mountain forests for hours on end, a brisk walk outside will definitely whisk you away into the heart of winter!

Come Together and Celebrate the Joy of Being with Each Other!

Of course, December is also often synonymous with good food and warm moments of sharing. In fact, you’ll find nothing more pleasant than improvising a supper at La fermette fumée or at La Bodega (for the decor). Or perhaps you’d prefer to savour a delicious locally brewed beer along with a comforting meal at the BRASSERIE DUNHAM,   La Knowlton Co., À l’Abordage or Auberge Sutton Brouërie (for the ambiance). You can also enjoy an evening at Beat & Betterave (for their garden cuisine and the great music), or a movie outing at the Cinéma Princess, followed by a lively discussion at the Rendez-vous Café (for all the menu selections and the warm atmosphere). And how about pausing for a while at the Pittstop or the Café Bolt (for the amazing aromas)? If you’re passing through Sutton, you might also want to drop by Mollies or at Yamabiko Coffee, which just opened on the town’s Main Street!
