Guided excursions for visiting Brome-Missisquoi

The trend is clearly well established: More and more businesses are coming together in the Eastern Townships to offer visitors rich, original, all-inclusive experiences!

To Please Your Taste Buds

Leaving Montreal to visit a vineyard is, by itself, already quite an inviting proposal. However, departing from Montreal (or Bromont) to visit three vineyards, to meet with winemakers, to savour terroir products and enjoy a delicious meal sounds even better, right?

One thing is for sure, companies, such as Kava Tours, which offer this type of activity, are becoming more and more popular. With the “Virée Rustik” you won’t have to worry about transportation because there are entire day and half-day excursions with evening outings as well, all geared at having you discover some of our local agri-food enterprises, with tastings and meals included.

If you’re more into the microbrewery scene, the Route des bières leaves from Montreal, and offers to take you on a tour of four microbreweries located in four lovely towns. On the menu: meeting brew masters, beer tasting and a meal. All this plus the most amazing background landscapes to enjoy throughout your excursion.

Local History, Outdoor Activities and Horses!

Are you a history buff? If so, you’ll love the Knowlton Tour; it will have you discover this charming town from a historical perspective at a leisurely pace as you walk the route while listening to a guide who will fill your head with several surprising anecdotes! You’ll understand why this very unique and authentic village inspired the famous writer, Louise Penny to use it as the backdrop of her stories.

The Club de vélo Sutton attracts cycling enthusiasts from all over, with their regular group outings that usually end with a tasting experience making you look forward to the next touring adventure!

This being said, all epicureans among us will also be pleased—especially if they love horses!—at the Vignoble La Bauge vineyard a two-hour horseback excursion is graciously offered by the Ranch Au gré du vent. As a bonus: Lunch made with our terroir products. A must you should add to your calendar as quickly as possible!

For canoe and kayak enthusiasts, the Canoë et Co enterprise, in Glen Sutton, offers an array of guided excursions, among them a moonlight outing! A shuttle service takes away the stress of having to organize your return to the starting point. For those who prefer navigating without a guide, this can also be arranged. Finally, you can even camp for free when you rent a boat.

It’s an easy bet that these unique getaways will stay in your fondest memories for a long time to come.
