Sutton

A true four-season destination, Sutton offers visitors a vast range of attractions. Its history, natural environment and rich cultural proposal make it an exceptional stopover in the Eastern Townships.

The arrival of American, English and Scottish Loyalists around 1790, followed by francophone settlers in the 1840s, shaped a vibrant and diverse heritage strongly reflected in the community today. The town, including Sutton Junction and Glen Sutton, now has a population of nearly 4,000 residents.

The Sutton massif attracts outdoor enthusiasts in all seasons. In winter, skiers and snowboarders enjoy the slopes of Mount Sutton, renowned for its glades. As for hiking fans, they can head out on a network covering 55 kilometres of trails in the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton, almost at all times throughout the year.

Cycling, kayaking, fat biking and camping enthusiasts will also discover many outdoor activities to enjoy here!

An interesting fact: Sutton is also home to the largest private conservation area in Eastern Canada.

Themed tours enhance the tourism experience: the town’s architectural and religious heritage, art galleries along the PleinArt Tour, and culinary discoveries offered by more than twenty producers and restaurateurs. The village rounds out this proposal with its welcoming cafés, boutiques, its performance venue, and key events such as the Traditional Violin Festival, Jazz Festival, Sutton en Blues, and Christmas Market.

And, if you wish to extend your stay, Sutton offers a wide range of accommodation options.
