Adélard

Adélard

Adélard is an organization working in the field of contemporary art whose mission is to bring artists and citizens together. Its activities include artist residencies, exhibitions and educational creative workshops. Adélard puts forward an approach to art that is accessible, human, open to the community and respectful of sustainable development.

Its artist residencies are open to the public every weekend from May to September. They take place in a heritage barn in the heart of the village of Frelighsburg and are an opportunity to discover the universe of an artist within an artist’s studio.

From May 20 to November 12, 2023, Adélard presents an exhibition entitled Points de Rencontres, a circuit of 16 outdoor works showed in 4 villages (Frelighsburg, Dunham, Saint-Armand and Stanbridge East). This “road trip exhibition” is a great way to discover emblematic places in the region.

From October 7 to November 26, 2023, Adelard presents an exhibition commemorating the 75th anniversary of Refus global in the magnificent Bishop Stewart Memorial. On this occasion, Adélard invited emerging artist Audrey Beaulé to create a project on the history of abstraction in Quebec from a feminist perspective. Their works will be in dialogue with historical works from the Loto-Québec Collection.
