December Wine Trail

The Wine Route would like to have you rediscover the viticultural treasures, the pride of Brome-Missisquoi, by inviting you to its “December Wine Trail event on December 7 and 14, a Holiday Season celebration that promises to warm your hearts and tempt your taste buds!

Imagine yourself bundled up in your warm winter clothing, driving along the region’s country roads. The air is crisp and cool, but the welcome in the vineyards is so warm and friendly! Guided winter tours, food and wine pairings, culinary treats, mulled wine, commented tastings, cocktails, outdoor fireplaces, craft fairs, gift baskets… this is what our local winemakers will be inviting you to experience.

 

Three Itineraries for Enjoying the Event

The Townships Circuit
This first route invites you to explore less travelled roads where bucolic landscapes unfold without ever ceasing to amaze you! Your first stop, the delightful Vignoble Bromont Auberge & Boutique located in the middle of Brigham’s lovely countryside. Here, you’ll find carefully developed wines produced with great finesse. Domaine P’tit Bonheur is your next stop. You’re bound to meet some of the family members who’ve been pouring their heart and soul into the vineyard since they purchased it just this year! Then, you’ll head to the Vignoble du Ruisseau in Dunham with its famous covered bridge setting the ambiance as soon as you arrive at the domain. Finally, the vineyard of Le Clos de l’Orme Blanc, nestled in the heart of Saint-Armand’s peaceful countryside, will welcome you with open arms to savour their organic white wine collection.


The Mount Brome Circuit
This four-stop itinerary will introduce you to La Belle Alliance in Shefford, a friendly vineyard boutique, then on to Brome Lake for a stop at Domaine Val Brome, where you’ll be able to savour a selection of wines and ciders as well, and at Léon Courville, Vigneron, where their sparkling wine along with their ice wine will totally amaze you! Finally, you’ll end your tour in Brigham, at the Vignoble du Pic Bois, offering the perfect setting for admiring the end of day golden hour. Keep your eyes wide open along the way, you may just discover some new viewpoints from which to admire Mount Brome and its four neighbouring peaks.


Remembering the Prohibitionists Circuit
Immerse yourself in our region’s fascinating history by heading out on this segment of the Brome-Missisquoi Prohibitionist Circuit. The road will lead you to your first stop, Vignoble Sugar Hill, a true hidden gem, only a few minutes outside the town of Knowlton. Here the wines are as inviting as the area residents. Then, head to Sutton to meet the owners of the Vignoble Domaine Bresee whose reputation is well established. Take this opportunity to savour the vineyard’s newest cuvées, celebrating their 25th anniversary. Finally, the route leads south, to your last stop at Château Ste-Agnès. This European-style vineyard will definitely charm you! Nearby Activities
Would you like to enhance your visit to the vineyards by turning it into a true getaway in the region? Fill up on local flavours with a delicious meal in one of Brome-Missisquoi’s many fine restaurants. You could also pick your own Christmas tree in one of the region’s tree plantations, enjoy yourself on one of our two ski mountain resorts, or simply take some time out to relax at the spa.
