It\u2019s now official there will be a tourist season this summer in Qu\u00e9bec. As was the case last year, we can expect outdoor and agritourism events to be particularly popular. And it\u2019s just as well, since you\u2019ll be able to explore many new activities during the upcoming months in the Eastern Townships. Here\u2019s an overview of some you can discover in the Brome-Missisquoi region.<\/p>\n

A Dose of Adrenaline at Mont SUTTON<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mont SUTTON<\/a> will soon offer a new fun activity for the entire family with its mountain network of zip lines<\/strong>. Mountain bike enthusiasts will also be delighted to discover three new trails that will open towards the end of July.<\/p>\n

New Infrastructures in Bromont<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Two highly anticipated infrastructures will be built in Bromont. First, the new public square<\/strong> downtown and its outdoor stage should host its first shows in a month or so. Also, as of August, outdoor enthusiasts will have access to the new welcome pavilion<\/strong> at the Parc des\u00a0Sommet<\/a>s de\u00a0Bromont.<\/p>\n

Art in the Open Air<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of the Paysages en s\u00e9rie<\/a> project, Sutton artist St\u00e9phane Lemardel\u00e9 illustrated five huge panoramic frescoes inspired by the landscapes of Brome-Missisquoi. These huge 55 metres long banners, when placed end to end, will be displayed in the municipalities of the region during the summer. For now, they can be seen on the bicycle path in the village of Sutton.<\/p>\n

In Frelighsburg and Dunham, the exhibition \u201cL\u2019objet de la nature<\/a>\u201d of the Ad\u00e9lard Art Centre presents 15 very large-scale photographic works on the exterior walls of several heritage buildings.<\/p>\n

Reopening of the Chapelle St-Agn\u00e8s<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You\u2019ll be delighted to know that he magnificent Domaine Dumont<\/a> (Vignoble de la Chapelle St-Agn\u00e8s), located in Glen Sutton, will finally reopen this summer. You\u2019ll have the good fortune to be able to visit this vineyard, considered to be among the most beautiful in all of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

Two New Activities in Bedford<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Bedford, don\u2019t miss stopping by the Bedford Lofts and discover the tasting room of the new Comont Distillery<\/a>. Also located in Bedford, the Aukaneck<\/a> company, which offers dog sledding in the colder season, will offer a summer version of this winter classic with their cani-scooters.<\/p>\n

Meeting Our Artists<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In addition to the classic Tour des\u00a0Arts<\/a>, a new circuit will allow visitors to discover our local artists\u2019 studios three weekends this summer. The Boulevard des\u00a0Arts<\/a> Tour will include 19 stops in the municipalities of Saint-Armand, Frelighsburg and Dunham.<\/p>\n

Our Heritage Is Taking the Centre Stage<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Several new heritage routes will be unveiled during the summer. The municipality of Dunham will present two routes, one of which follows our region\u2019s counterfeiters\u2019 trail. In Farnham, the heritage trail will be completely revamped. Finally, to mark the 100th anniversary of the American prohibition, a new thematic tour showcasing stories related to alcohol trafficking around the border will be unveiled in August.<\/p>\n

Performances on the Townships Trail<\/strong><\/h2>\n
