Brome-Missisquoi is a true paradise for epicurean outdoor sports enthusiasts! Here, you\u2019ll find the ideal setting for playing outside as you enjoy the Eastern Townships\u2019 great natural environment. Plus, you\u2019ll also discover plenty of options for your \u201capr\u00e8s-sport\u201d time, which – we think- is an essential part of the whole experience!
\nWe recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend here with our family, savouring excellent meals and enjoying uncountable outdoor activities. With the March school break just around the corner, the timing is perfect for planning a stay to explore the best Brome-Missisquoi has to offer! Here are some of our favourite places and activities sure to please small and tall alike!<\/p>\n

Huttopia Sutton<\/a>
\nThe Perfect Base Camp\u2026 Year-Round!<\/em><\/p>\n

We loved our Huttopia Sutton summer stay with its friendly ambiance and its quality installations, but we were totally delighted by their winter formula. The venue is so amazing!
\nThe accommodation proposes about forty small, wood-framed cottages, designed to welcome guests inside a warm comforting cocoon after a day spent playing outside. With their rustic style and smart layout, these lodgings offer all the necessary amenities to fully enjoy a getaway surrounded by nature.<\/p>\n

Features we especially liked:
\n\u2022 A Strategic site: near Mount SUTTON, perfect for making fresh tracks on the slopes early in the morning.
\n\u2022 The equipment included: a wood-burning stove, a fully-equipped kitchen (and even a dishwasher), bedding and towels\u2026 everything you need for a successful stay!
\n\u2022 The Plein Air Sutton trails right onsite: you can explore this 14 km network of winter trails directly from your cottage. Plus, the entrance fee is included in your stay! However, to access the cross-country ski trails, you must pay an access fee.
\n\u2022 Access to all the H\u00f4tel Horizon Sutton amenities: Huttopia Sutton is located on the same site as the H\u00f4tel Horizon Sutton, allowing guests to enjoy breakfasts as well as the accommodation\u2019s restaurant services (for an extra fee).<\/p>\n

Mount SUTTON<\/a>
\nAn Absolute Classic<\/em><\/p>\n

Mount SUTTON is THE mountain that never disappoints. With its vast skiable terrain, its microclimate ensuring optimal skiing conditions, and its impressive number of glade trails, this ski hill has become a true must for snow sports enthusiasts. The ambiance here is unique, and we can sense their passion everywhere throughout the resort.<\/p>\n

During our visit, we, of course, enjoyed skiing, but we also tried an activity that had been intriguing us for quite a while: Sliding down the hillside on a yooner. We were totally conquered by this small hybrid contraption, combining skiing and luging , which has us head down the slopes in a seated position and is super easy to control. In fact, even our eight-year-old learned how to maneuver it in just a few minutes. We knew it would be a lot of fun, but never expected to laugh so much! Really, you should definitely test one if you like thrilling snow experiences!<\/p>\n

After playing outside all day, a stop at Tucker\u2019s, Mount Sutton\u2019s emblematic apr\u00e8s-ski bar, is also not to be missed! It\u2019s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great tasting pint or a hot chocolate drink, as you listen to all the skiers tell stories about their best run of the day.<\/p>\n

For Some Great Eats Near Mount Sutton<\/em><\/strong>
\nTwo places where you\u2019ll enjoy a delicious meal after a day on the slopes:
\n\u2022 Kokkaku Ramen<\/a> : A Japanese Restaurant, in the Heart of Sutton. Here, you\u2019ll be able to savour delicious ramen soups, rice bowls and other tasty dishes all made with local ingredients. We especially loved the attentive staff, the unpretentious ambiance, and the small arcade space for kids (and parents) to enjoy.
\n\u2022 Auberge Sutton Brou\u00ebrie<\/a> : Another Unmissable Destination in the Town of Sutton! This microbrewery concocts its own beer onsite and offers a pub type menu, perfect and comforting after a day spent in the great outdoors! Here, a friendly environment and local flavours are always on the menu.<\/p>\n

The Parc des Sommets<\/a>
\nRediscover our Cycling Classics\u2026 in a Winter Formula!<\/em><\/p>\n

The Parc des Sommets, in Bromont, has over 140 km of trails accessible all year-round! Indeed, quite impressive! We explored the trails on fatbikes and took advantage of our visit to initiate our eight-year-old son to the sport. Finding a rental service providing equipment for children isn\u2019t always easy, so we were very happy with the options offered!
\nThe park\u2019s rental service is located at the Pavillon d\u2019Accueil, the park\u2019s welcome centre, located at the foot of Mount Oak, a sector we love exploring during the summer months and which is just as pleasant in winter. We were delighted to rediscover our favourite trails, such as the Yakattak, which is just as flowy and fun in the cold season.
\nThe experience proved to be a huge family favourite. Cycling on the snow feels completely different, and seeing our son having so much fun on the trails made the activity even more memorable. If your child can handle a mountain bike, the transition to a fatbike will be super easy!<\/p>\n

Best Eats near the Parc des Sommets<\/strong><\/em>
\nYou\u2019ll find plenty of delightful options in Bromont!
\n\u2022 Pittstop V\u00e9lo-Caf\u00e9<\/a>: A friendly caf\u00e9 adjoining our favourite bike shop in Qu\u00e9bec. You couldn\u2019t ask for more! They serve sandwiches, lunch bowls, smoothies and delicious coffee roasted by Julius Caf\u00e9, exclusively for Pittstop V\u00e9lo-Caf\u00e9. It\u2019s also an opportunity to admire the latest bike models and dream about the summer ahead\u2026!<\/p>\n

Once again, our stay in Brome-Missisquoi reminded us of why we love this area so much. Here, everything is about balance. You\u2019ll experience the great outdoors, pushing your limits on the snow, then you\u2019ll be able to relax and savour simple after-sport treats. And it\u2019s this perfect balance that makes the region an ideal destination for a family getaway during the March school break!
\nWinter turns these landscapes into a vast playground where every outing becomes a family adventure, whether on the slopes, on the trails or while enjoying an amazing meal. The locals\u2019 warm welcome and the authentic nature of the area make you feel at home as much in summer as in winter.<\/p>\n

One thing\u2019s for sure: you\u2019ll leave on tired legs, with a full belly and with only one wish\u2026 to come back as soon as possible!<\/p>\n
